Using 2D Planes to Simulate Volumetric Clouds

This shows the basic idea. I moved a 2D plane up 425 BU's from the Bryce "ground". I then multi-replicated the plane 63 times with a Y Offset of 1 BU. 64 is mostly likely overkill and many times you can use as few as 16 planes, spaced further apart.

All the textures below have shadows turned off - if you want ground shadows just turn on "Cast Shadows" (only!) for the bottom 2 or 3 planes. Any more and it acts like a soild, blocking out all light to the ground.
