Dragonfly Canyon


One of those images I could never seem to get right - I reached a point where everything I did just seemed to make things worse! About 100MB of Tree Pro trees. I've trimmed a bunch of the polys off the "backs" of the trees to reduce the poly count.

The Dragonfly was traced in FormZ from images I D/Led from the web. What's really cool about doing it this way is that if you do the UV mapping right (in this case UVMapper) the image that was used for tracing fits almost perfectly on the object when used as a texture. I used KPT6's Equalizer plug to make an almost black&white version of the trace image for the wing's transparency map.

All the other objects are also modeled in FormZ from images I D/L'ed from the web (but I'll be darned if I can remember their "real" names!)
