A "pure" Bryce image for the Renderosity Feb. challenge entry.
The one terrain (the stone head) was created by doing a 4096x4096
Distance render of a Victoria 3 Head. This grayscale image was
taken into Pshop where I subtracted the KPT3 Texture Explorer's
"A Lovely Vein" preset (heavily modified). This was then brought
into the Terrain Editor and applied to a 4096x4096 terrain. This
turned out to be unwieldy on my 500MHz machine so I downsampled
the terrain to 1024x1024 which caused some "staircase" errors
which I kinda liked, especially with the slope based texture.
Added to that are 1 Plane, 1 Sphere, 1 2D Face, 2 Bryce Trees,
3 Ranged Omni Lights, 3 Ranged Spotlights, 12 Tori, 14 Cylinders,
23 cubes, and 228 Metaballs (the 4 aliens).
All textures are Bryce procedurals.
Rendered at 64RPP/Soft Shadows on a 500MHz G3 Mac. Render time:7
hours, 22 minutes. The 4 Metaball aliens added about 1.5 hours
to the render! No post work except gamma correction on the PC
version. |
