I've worked for clients since 2014.
I've created many things for clients. Examples include software for processing 100's of hours of 2+ speaker audio data into nicely formatted transcripts, a compiler for a client's newly invented programming language, a computational geometry algorithm and implementation that calculates polygons for the interor regions of a scribbled line in real time, and a 200 page pdf collecting my pedagogical materials on Introductory Programming, a wedding website modelled after a tall building with an elevator, and everything on this Bryce Works Services Website.
I have 10+ years of professional teaching experience dating back to my work as a teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University in Spring 2015, continuing onwards thru my work at the Northern Virginia Community College as an Assistant Professor from January 2019 – August 2023, and beyond to my move to Pittsburgh and subsequent work as a consultant in 2024.
During my work as a Community College Professor, I met quite a few students who were daunted by programming. I've seen them transform and gain confidence that can only come from succeeding at difficult yet worthwhile goals. I created numerous documents, illustrations, methodologies, and automatic grading software during this time that were used by my students.
I have a BS degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon, a MS in Integrated Digital Media from New York University, and have taken 6 graduate courses in Computer Science from George Mason University in practical topics such as Computational Photography, Compilers, AI and Cryptography.

I am a professional personal historian. I work with clients to record their stories and memories they want to share. I produce books or chapters of their stories for my clients. I had been working with Barbara for three years and had about 40 hours of voice recordings. I needed to transcribe these, so I contacted the transcriptionist I had used for the books I had created.. She did great work for me but then I got her quote. Her cost now was well over $200 per hour, this was about double what I had paid her before. The good news, I had great, meaningful stories, memories and anecdotes from Barbara. We had started talking about chapters, but she and I could not afford to get the voice recordings transcribed I paused working on the chapters for several months, meanwhile transitioning to work on preserving and captioning her family photo memories. Then I thought of Bryce. I recommended software tools, he quickly reviewed transcribing options, wrote a program to improve one of the transcribing tools and then did a great job transcribing the 40 plus hours of Barbara's recorded stories for a very reasonable price. My transcription service is one where I perform calculations that process your data and arrive at a desired end result. I may be able to process your data in other ways with or without ai. I can also calculate probabilities, and other answers to mathematically framed questions.
